After months of speculation and high hopes for Apple fans in Spain, the wait appears to be over.
The first Apple store in Spain will open in September in Barcelona’s La Maquinista shopping mall according to real estate sources.
Up until today, the Apple brand operated through local authorized dealerships, such as K-tuin or FNAC and the department stores El Corte Ingles.
Due to a lack of commercial premises on Paseo de Gracia, the tech giant has opted to open its Apple store in La Maquinista in a 1,300 sqm premises between the stores of Zara and Desigual.
Expectations are high that Apple will open a second Apple Store in the coming months, this time in Madrid.
Apple currently operates 286 Apple Stores around the globe.
