Three people have died in the province of Cordoba as a result of heavy rains last night, according to sources from the Guardia Civil and the Junta de Andalucia.

Two people died as their SUV got washed away by a flood in the municipality of Aguilar de la Frontera, one of the worst affected areas by the rain. A 36 year old man died when a wall fell on his home in Bujalance, Cordoba.

The region registered 120 liters of rain per square meter since it began to rain Monday night at 22:00.

Storm warnings have been issued for most of southern Spain with Malaga and Granada at orange alert for heavy rain and Ceuta, Melilla, and Badajoz as well as six regions in Andalucia at yellow alert.
