ETAFransisco Javier Velazquez is in Venezuela to engage in a war aimed at curbing terrorism activities in both Spain and Venezuela. The Spanish Director of Police and Guardia Civil wants to step up the war against the Basque terrorist group ETA.

The travel had been planned after intelligence was uncovered that ETA members and FARC terrorists had been communicating and joining forces.

Deputy Prime Minister, Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega, announced the purpose of the trip, and claimed that it showed the ever existing cooperation, talks, and compromise in the war against terrorists by combative forces of Spain and Venezuela.
