About 1,500 people have been evacuated from the homes in Andalucia as the Guadalquivir river reached historic levels after several days of intense rain.
The Guadalquivir river has overflowed in various parts of Andalucia, including areas around Seville, Cordoba and Jaen.
The heavy rainfall over the past few days have also caused around 20 roads to be cut off throughout the Andalucian provinces. The regional authorities mobilized around 500 rescue workers and are holding emergency plans in Cordoba, Jaen and Sevilla according to the regional government.
The current weather and its effects are exceptional for a country that is suffering more and more from drought.
