Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, said Friday that he “absolutely” rules out a rescue of Spain similar to that of Ireland. Zapatero added that “despite the reduction in salaries of government employees, there will be no dismissals.

In an interview with the Spanish radio RAC1, Zapatero stressed that the Spanish debt “stands 20 points below the EU average before, during and after the crisis.”

The Spanish PM also accused the PP over its calling into question Spain’s debt, adding that the “PP has no international credibility”.
