Muammar al-GaddafiIn his tent outside Tripoli, the Libyan Leader – Muammar Gaddafi extended a warm reception to the Spanish P.M – Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero on Thursday. Both leaders discussed the plans on bilateral relationships and developmental aspects of the two regions.

Initially, Bab-Al-Azizia was decided as the meeting spot for Zapatero and Muammar Qaddafi but later on, it was changed to a tent in the outskirts of Tripoli. Followed by his inquiries about the health of the Spanish King – Don Juan Carlos, Muammar Qaddafi slowly switched the conversation towards the serious issues that are being faced by both countries.

Meanwhile, Zapatero was pleased to inform Qaddafi about the successful surgery and a speedy recovery of the King — while taking the opportunity to convey the greetings and warm sentiments of Don Juan Carlos to the Libyan leader.

Miguel Angel Moratinos – The Spanish Foreign Minister was accompanying Zapatero by sitting beside him in one of the sofas inside the tent. The discussion was also intended towards the closure of diplomatic conflicts that Tripoli had with Switzerland for the last 2 years, followed by the arrest of the son of the Libyan leader – Hannibal Gaddafi (30), on 15 June in a Swiss hotel, after being accused of an ill conduct with domestic workers.
