In the draw for the next round of the Champions League, Spanish teams Real Madrid, Barcelona and Seville are pitted against teams they would be comfortable to win and advance to the next stage.

While current champions Barcelona have been drawn against Stuttgart, Real Madrid will take on Lyon. Seville, the team which has been playing the role of the dark horse up to now, should be looking to progress as well. The Spanish side, which finished third in the La Liga, qualified by topping Group G and will look to overcome CSKA Moscow.

Barcelona will look to make history by retaining the Champions League trophy, a feat which has not been accomplished ever by any team. With stars like Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahamovic, Xavi, Carlos Puyol and Andres Iniesta, Barcelona will surely be the team to beat.

Spanish rivals Real Madrid, which will host the finals at the Bernabeu in May next year, are also serious contenders for the title. Madrid went on a spending spree shelling out 191 million pounds last summer on new signings, and will look to their investment to pay dividends by lifting the trophy. Christiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema will all want to prove their sky-high price tags.

Nothing would please them as much as depriving rivals Barcelona of creating history and winning the trophy for the second consecutive year. A flurry of exciting matches is in store ahead.
