Barcelona maintained a slim one-point lead over Real Madrid as both teams won their respective matches this weekend. Sevilla also earned a victory against Villarreal to stay close to the top two teams.
Barcelona is at the top with a tally of 26 points, closely followed by Real Madrid on 25. Sevilla are in the third position and Valencia retained their fourth position with a 3-1 win over Zaragoza at home.
Real overcame Atlético 3-2 whereas Barcelona beat Mallorca 4-2. Real played well in the first half against Atlético but the opposition had more of the possession in the later stages as Atlético were reduced to 10 men when Sergio Ramos was shown a red in the 66th minute.
Pedro scored a brace for Barcelona and Zlatan Ibrahimovic also did well in the team’s 4-2 victory over Mallorca.
