Spanish authorities arrested a 92 year old woman who was carrying over four kilos of cocaine on her body at the Barajas International Airport in Madrid last Friday. The woman was travelling with a younger female, both of whom arrived in Spain on a Brazilian flight.
Police became suspicious of the older woman when her behaviour in her wheelchair drew their attention.
The two women were set to fly into Tenerife, but once airport police security control procedures began the younger woman bolted.
Upon inspection the officers found the cocaine and launched a search for the elderly women’s companion, who was quickly found and also taken into police custody.
