After being placed on a list of U.K.’s 10 most wanted criminals, who are believed to be on the run in the Spanish resorts, a British man has surrendered to officials at the British consular offices based in Majorca.

The suspect named Michael Eddleston, who is 27 and originally from Doncaster, is facing three serious charges of trafficking in drugs back in England. He was one of the heavily publicised men in the so-called Operation Captura, who were the subject of an appeal by British police for information regarding their whereabouts.

He was suspected of being a resident somewhere in the Costa Del Sol area, but has now shown up in the Balearic Islands. He is reputed to be a principal member of a criminal organisation which trafficked drugs in the Morley and Doncaster areas of West Yorkshire.

Back in 2006 officers from both the West and South Yorkshire police forces mounted an investigation which ended in the discovery of large amounts of amphetamines and heroin valued at over £60,000.

Eight others were charged at the time with drug trafficking offences, and were subsequently jailed in Yorkshire at the end of 2006.
