Yesterday, the Spanish Professional Soccer League general director, Francisco Roca, stated that some of the up-coming matches will be played during the midday period, in an attempt to accommodate Asian audiences.
In particular the League is aiming to attract the Chinese audiences by placing the game times at peak viewing times for those who live in Asia. The matches will be held at around 15:00 which is about 21:00 in China, the prime time TV viewing slot.
The Chinese audiences in particular enjoy watching Barcelona and Real Madrid even though they are not very popular in the UK.
With the addition of the Chinese audience, the president of Real Madrid anticipates viewing numbers for Spanish footy could rise up to a massive1.8billion people.
