Cardiff boy Alex Hughes aged just 16 has apparently come out of a coma which was induced after he suffered a violent attack outside a nightclub in Majorca over a month ago.
He is apparently now able to answer simple questions put to him by his doctors at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff but he is unable to speak and can only reply by nodding and shaking his head. He is also now able to make basic movements with his arms and legs.
Meanwhile back in Majorca three teenagers have appeared in court in relation to the attack during which Alex had a bottle smashed over his head apparently causing his coma on August 2nd.
After receiving life-saving brain surgery at Port d’Antratx he was flown back to Cardiff for further treatment which now at least seems to be reasonably successful. Apparently the teen began to react when his parents told him his good GCSE results which caused a flickering of his eyebrows, his first response in five weeks, since then he has continued to improve.
