The Spanish Health Ministry confirmed on Thursday that the total number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Spain has risen to 88 cases.

According to the latest figures from the Spanish authorities there are 27 patients with confirmed A/H1N1 virus in Castilla-La Mancha, four in Madrid, and one in the provinces of Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, and the Basque.

Out of all suspected cases, 138 individuals have been discarded. All cases of confirmed swine flu in Spain, have recently travelled to Mexico, except for one, which was infected indirectly.
