The total number of confirmed swine flu cases in Spain now stands at 20 according to the Spanish Ministry of Health’s report released Saturday.
The two new cases have been confirmed in the region of Valencia with existing cases in Andalucia, Valencia, Castilla La Mancha, Catalunya, and the Basque area.
The number of suspected cases in Spain are now at 103. All patients confirmed with the virus appear to be responding well to treatment.
According to the World Health Organisation the latest additional cases in Spain may point to a global pandemic. The organisation is urging countries to make final preparations to deal with a virus that may sweep the globe. The World Health Organization rose the alert level to phase 5 from a scale of 6 on Wednesday.
