According to Eurostat, 50.5% of those younger than 25 in Spain are out of work.

Eurostat notes that unemployment increased throughout the Eurozone and European Union, up to 10.8% and 10.2%, respectively, with Spain registering the highest unemployment rate, of 23.6%.

The figures which relate to the month of February, show Spain is at the top of the list with 23.6%, followed by Greece (21%), and Portugal (15%).

Lowest on the list were Austria (4.2%), the Netherlands (4.9%), Luxembourg (5.2%) and Germany (5.7%). Out of the nearly 25 million unemployed in the European Union, 5.4 million are under 25.
