Iberia’s pilots will strike in December, according to the trade union that represents the pilots (Sepla-Ibera). Specific dates have not been confirmed yet.

The reason for the strike is pilot dissatisfaction with the creation of low-cost Iberia Express, which plans to begin operations in April 2012. According to Sepla-Iberia the new low-cost carrier violates labour agreements by separating the operation of flights from the company without approval from the trade union.
