36.1 per cent of Spaniards are obsese according to the study “Epidemiology of Obesity in Spain”.

“Every twenty years the pathology of obesity is doubling” according to the author of the study.

Experts suggested that abdominal obesity is the clearest reflection of cardiometabolic risk associated with this disease, given that obese people are at increased risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

The “Enrica study” carried out with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Health, surveyed 12,000 people, who also underwent a physical examination.

The result of this study showed for the first time that the number of obese men is higher than women, except for women over 65 years.

The solution to being overweight involves a change in lifestyle; healthy eating and exercise, among others.
