The consumer price index (CPI) in Spain has increase 0.9% in October, revealing a 2.3% interanual increase.

According to the latest figures released by the National Institute of Statistics published this morning, the most influential components in October were the rise in prices of clothing and shoes, with a 9.8% increase. The price hike is mainly attributed to purchases for the winter season.

By contrast, leisure and culture, as well as bar, cafes, restaurants and hotels, adversely affected the Consumer Price Index, as prices in the sector fell 0.8% and 0.2% respectively.
