A massive 8 meters high wave smashed into a cruise ship carrying nearly 2,000 people Wednesday, leaving two passengers dead and six injured according to Spanish maritime rescue services.
The Louis Majesty was on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise when it was struck by the monster wave. The ship docked in Barcelona late wednesday night.
The company, in a statement on Wednesday, said the casualties were caused when the freak waves smashed windows in a public area of the ship.
The Louis Majesty is a 200-metre-long ship with over 700 cabins.
