Villarreal seem to have found their form after a 4-1 victory against Lazio gave them full three points on Thursday night. Villarreal started in explosive fashion and the Spanish side was leading with three quick goals within the first fifteen minutes of the game.

Robert Pires put the home team ahead in the second minute and soon after Lazio were down to 10 men as Roberto Baronio was sent off for a foul on LLorente. Ruben Cani scored the second goal and Pires made it 3-0 in the 14th minute to make it a one-sided affair. Though Lazio got a consolation goal back after half time but Villarreal made it 4-1 just before the end to record another impressive victory after the 5-0 drubbing of Tenerife.

Athletic de Bilbao drew 1-1 against Nacional de Madeira and moved closer to the last 16. They now stand second in their group. Both sides had many opportunities to score but succeeded in scoring once each.

Valencia saw a 2-0 lead at half time slip away in just a couple of minutes to draw 2-2 against a weaker Slavia.
