France charges Basque ETA suspects

Aitor Elizaran and Ohiana Sanvicente, who were arrested in France at the beginning of last week, were charged with conspiracy to collaborate with a terrorist organization according to an unnamed legal official who spoke of the charges on Saturday.

When the pair was arrested they were found with loaded weapons that also led to a charge for carrying firearms, car theft, and possession of false documents.

At the studio apartment the pair had rented additional handguns, fake identity papers, and computer equipment were also found linking the couple to the ETA militant group.

Over the course of this year about 30 ETA suspects have been found and arrested in France.
