Mark Porter and Michelle Clydesdale from northern England drowned in the sea off Salou, the famous Spanish resort town.

Their bodies were discovered washed up on the beach Wednesday morning by the police, after staff at the close by, Los Molinos Park Hotel, alerted them that two guests were missing.

It appears that a group of five friends including the two victims went swimming around 2am on Wednesday morning, and got into trouble near a cove at the end of the Playa Larga beach. Three members of the group made it to shore and ran back to the hotel to report their friends missing.

A police spokesman reported that the police found their bodies at 3:45am about 800m from where they first started having problems.
