confirmation on various tech portals. Apple has not confirmed nor denied the rumours.

The chosen location for the first Apple Store in Spain is allegedly Barcelona’s famous Paseo de Gracia avenue.  The 1,000 square meter ground floor space at Paseo de Gracia 38-40, could open later this year. Ideally in time for christmas shopping.

The first Apple Store to hit Barcelona comes as no suprise, after Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer noted during a conference call with analysts last week, that revenues for Spain were a “surprise” for the quarter. Apple’s sale in Spain were up 40% on the year, making the new Apple Store in Spain a logical choice.

Currently Barcelona only has a few small IT stores which sell Apple products, or big retailers such as FNAC or El Corte Inglés which have dedicated sections for Apple products.
