Passengers on a Jet2Jet flight were delayed in Spain after a flight bound for Newcastle Airport was held up when their plane was disabled. The flight was on the ground in Murcia when a passenger dropped a mobile phone on the floor, and it then fell through an air vent.

Due to the fact that the mobile was switched on when it was dropped, safety rules demand that the plane was not able to take off until it was located again.

It took three hours of engineers pulling the plane apart to find the mobile, and the passengers were thanked for their patience, but there was no other choice according to Jet2Jet.
