The Spanish Guardia Civil seized 510 kilos of cocaine on Saturday, from the engine room of a Venezuelan tanker docked in the port of Tarragona.
The registration of the tanker is not known, but its sailing itinerary started in the middle of September from the Venezuelan port of Maracaibo to Egypt, with a stop in Tarragona for some unclear and unscheduled reason.
The tanker route aroused police suspicions, leading to the inspection, which unearthed the cocaine, which was stowed away in a room tucked under the axle of the ruder, which could be accessed both from inside the boat and from outside the ship while at sea.
