The Ministry of Health has confirmed a further two deaths Thursday, raising the total number of swine flu deaths in Spain to 45.

This past week’s estimates situate the A/1HN1 virus at 98.65 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The latest estimate suggests that around 42,000 people contracted the swine flu virus this week.

5,000 deaths and 400,000 infections globally

The global swine flu death toll stands at 4735 according to the latest figures released Friday by the World Health Organization as well as just under 400,000 cases of infection.
