Francisco Caamano Dominquez, the Spanish Justice Minister and Arturo Chavez Chavez who is the Mexican Attorney General have made an agreement under which, they will very actively exchange information with regard to organised crime activities operating between the two nations.

Most of their efforts will be aimed at the massive and powerful drug cartels, which operate in Mexico, and indulge in large amounts of trade with their traditional Spanish speaking partners in Spain.

Spain has a very serious cocaine problem and is only just behind the US in western coke importation. Another area they are concerned about is terrorism, and potential links between the drug cartels and anti-Spanish government terrorist elements.
