Suspect Joanes Larretxea Mendiola was arrested in France this past weekend for questioning in her alleged role in a bombing campaign that took place in Majorca over the summer.

Mendiola was arrested along side one of the most wanted terrorists from Spain, alleged Chief of the Basque separatist group ETA, Iurgi Mendinueta Mintegi.

The French police were able to catch Mendiola while she was travelling in a stolen car near Montpelier, on her way to an explosives den. When they caught her she was carrying false ID and fully armed.

The pair will be held in a local police station until they are moved to the French capital.

Spanish Development Minister Jose Blanco issued congratulations to the French government and the Spanish security forces for their cooperation in the capture of the two fugitives.
