Solel has received a US$2.6m grant from the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Enterprise from the Andalusian Region, to help with plans to operate and build a new components factory that will produce metal supports for solar collectors, parabolic reflectors, and other various solar articles.

The plant will be built in La Carolina and is expected to be finished in the year 2012 although some of the manufacturing lines will be ready for use by the close of this year according to Solel.

To date, Solel has been part of 15 solar power plants throughout Spain and internationally involved in around 750MW projects.

Additionally, Solel also partnered with Sacyr Vallehermoso to build three more power plants, of which, the first one is expected to open in 2010.
