The Real Madrid team won a huge victory over the newly promoted Xerex who were previously undefeated this year, with four of the goals of the game happening within the last 13 minutes of the second half.

During this time period Cristaino Ronaldo was able to score twice along with goals by team-mates Karim Benzema, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Jose Maria Gutierrez.

Currently Madrid leads the league with nine points with Valencia and Mallorca following close behind with seven points and Sevilla with six.

The goals came at a cost however, as Van Nistelrooy may have torn his thigh muscle while scoring one of the final goals, as yet it is unknown if he will be playing next weekend.
