Spain’s most wanted couple Hector and Susana Perez have been captured by French police in the city of Le Havre and now face extradition and trial in regard to a double murder in July last year in the Spanish town of Abrera.

The crime shuck the nation because of its brutality and the fact that the female victim was heavily pregnant at the time. The bodies of the brother and sister were found in a freezer in a home in Abrera at the end of July.

The Spanish police had evidence that the fleeing couple have taken a flight to Spain after the murders which were apparently related to a dispute regarding the sale of an apartment.

The couple who were murdered did not actually own the apartment it was owned by their father. The scene had been made to look like a robbery, but the police had their own theories and immediately applied for an international arrest warrant valid across Europe.
