The Oxford University Cave Club was forced to call rescue services in for help last Saturday due to floods that cut four members away from the group in the mountain range of Picos de Europa.

Picos de Europa, SpainPreviously on July 26th during the same excursion two members of the team had to call rescuers after they lost their hold on the end of the rope and dropped it into the same cave range.

Paul Savage, the Cave Club chairman, stated that all members of the Cave Club were experienced and that they were never in danger but just involved in a series of unfortunate events that make the organization look a little ridiculous.

Savage went on to say that none of the caves were hurt and that the second call to the rescue service was just a precaution as proved by the fact the trapped members had found their way back to the group before rescuers arrived.
