Travel agents in Spain, which form part of the GEBTA association have calculated an accumulated drop in revenues of between 25-30% in the first quarter of 2009, a decrease which the association predicts will hold until the end of the year.

In an interview with Europa Press, the president of GEBTA Spain, Martí Sarrate, affirmed that the sector is in a “complicated” situation and warned of the danger of falling into a “price war”, a practice which according to Sarrate is not in favour of anybody as it would seriously hurt certain companies.
