According to the European Commission’s latest report released on Monday, the Spanish economy will see unemployment rise to 20.5% next year and a contraction in GDP of 3.2% as well as seeing public deficit to reach 8.6% of GDP.

The commission forecast that the EU as a whole will suffer a deeper and longer recession than previously forecasted as a result of a bigger than expected collapse in global trade.
